These school holidays, little explorers can become official Junior Penguin Keepers! Guided by our expert Education Team, kids will take part in educational talks, an interactive trail, and hands-on activities. They’ll even dive into the world of penguin care, conservation and enrichment.

Experience an on-the-ice encounter like no other, as you venture into the world's largest sub-Antarctic penguin colony display with Penguin Passport!
Penguin Passport allows visitors to explore the wonderful snow-filled penguin enclosure and the opportunity to get up close and personal with the magnificent King and Gentoo Penguins. Visitors will enjoy a private Q&A session with an experienced Penguin Keeper as part of the experience. Photos of your experience are taken while you are on the ice, and are included in the price.

Meet our King and Gentoo Penguins!
Be amazed at our King and Gentoo Penguins as they swoop and swoon through icy cold seawater. Antarctic Ice Adventure is the Southern Hemisphere's largest display of Sub-Antarctic penguin colony as well as being one of the most successful breeding programs on the planet!
Did You Know?
SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's run a successful breeding program for both the King and Gentoo Penguins. During the breeding season the enclosure is a flurry of activity - especially from the Gentoo Penguins.
Gentoo Penguins use pebbles to find a mate and build their nests. During the courtship period, male and female penguins will scour the ice for the perfect pebble. Once found, they will take the pebble and present it to their sweetheart as a gift. If accepted and a partnership formed, they will continue to collect pebbles until a nest is formed.
